The news we have all been anticipating for months is finally here; The Screen Actors Guild (SAG-AFTRA) and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) have reached an agreement.
Negotiations are over and pending ratification, their agreement means that dozens of big-name productions in the UK will now pick up where they left off earlier in July or finally begin filming.
At Extra People, we are over the moon! But we also want to be sensible. Please don’t assume that this development means an avalanche of availability enquiries and bookings are headed your way immediately. Christmas is always a quieter period for Film and TV, and most productions will wait until the new year to start filming.
We expect that the industry will be returning to normal levels of production in January. Between now and then, a lot of productions will be finishing pre-production, finalising their shooting schedules and booking fittings.
That’s why it is vital that your profile is the best it can be right now!
This is the best time to take new “Current Look” photos if you haven’t done so this autumn.
“Current Look” photos are always the most important pictures on your profile.
We need a full set (Full Length, Front, Side & Back). Only the Full Length needs to be full length. The others should be much closer to your face so we can clearly see your look.
Professional Headshots, if you have them, are better suited for Main & Face slots. Recent selfies are to update your Current Look photos.
Delete photos older than a year (uniform/wardrobe pics can stay put).
Double check your contact information and address, especially your postcode.
We use postcodes to find artists living close to filming locations. If your postcode is wrong or missing, you’re invisible during our searches.
Review your body measurements - if you're missing any key measurements, you're invisible to our bookers looking for candidates for costume roles.
Men: Height, Chest, Waist, Trouser Waist, Inside Leg, Shoe.
Women: Height, Bust, Waist, Dress Size, Hip, Shoe.
Update your skills, qualifications and disciplines in the Casting Information tab and make sure they’re accurate.
