Extra People’s Code of Conduct
Supporting Artiste Code of Conduct
Extra People Ltd
Effective Date: 5th August 2025
Introduction
As a professional Supporting Artiste (SA) represented by Extra People, you are expected to uphold the highest standards of behaviour on and off set. Your conduct directly reflects on our agency’s reputation and impacts the smooth running of production environments. This Code of Conduct outlines the expectations and obligations of all SAs working under our representation. By remaining on our books, you agree to abide by this Code in full.
Failure to comply with this Code may result in disciplinary action, including but not limited to warnings, removal from a booking, suspension from the agency roster or permanent removal from representation.
1. General Professionalism
You must treat every booking as a professional engagement. Arrive on time, ready, and willing to work.
Maintain a respectful, flexible attitude throughout the day. Film & TV sets are dynamic and changes are frequent.
Mobile phones must remain on silent and out of sight during working hours, unless permitted by production.
Your phone should not be brought to set and should remain with your possessions in crowd holding areas, except only when:
A lack of facilities makes this impossible
Your phone has to stay on your person for medical purposes (e.g. insulin tracking apps for people with type 1 Diabetes).
2. Communication with the Agency
Respond to all communications from the agency in a polite and professional manner.
Use appropriate and respectful language across all communication channels (email, phone, text, WhatsApp, or online platforms).
Refrain from unsolicited complaints or inflammatory remarks in group chats or public forums on our website.
If you have a complaint, please reach out directly to the agency for resolution.
If you encounter issues on set, report them directly and privately to the agency, not in group chats or social media posts.
3. Conduct on Set
Follow the directions of Assistant Directors (ADs), Crowd 2nd/3rd ADs, and Floor Runners at all times.
Cooperate respectfully with Crowd personnel, Costume, Hair & Make-Up departments, Security and Transport teams.
Remain in holding or designated areas unless directed otherwise.
Do not approach lead cast members unless invited to do so.
Remain proactive but not pushy. If unsure of what you should be doing or where you should be, ask a relevant crew member when appropriate.
4. Respect for All Crew and Colleagues
Treat all colleagues, including fellow Supporting Artists, crew, cast, and agency staff, with respect, regardless of role or status.
Any form of bullying, passive-aggressive behaviour, intimidation, or exclusionary conduct will not be tolerated.
Foster a collaborative, calm, and respectful atmosphere. Disruptive or aggressive behaviour will result in immediate consequences.
Obey the requests you're given by each department. Uncooperative stubbornness, laziness or rudeness can result in expulsion from the job.
Remain patient whilst between instructions in crowd holding areas.
Be respectful of shared spaces. Maintain a polite noise level and always dispose of litter and food waste appropriately.
5. Costume, Hair & Make-Up Protocol
Arrive clean and presentable. Follow grooming and personal hygiene standards suitable for filming.
Always arrive wearing underwear. Those without underwear will be released without pay.
Respect the work and decisions of the Costume, Hair & Make-Up departments. Their instructions are part of the creative vision.
Despite the relaxed and creative feel of many production spaces, please remember that all holding areas, costume fitting rooms and Hair & Make-up stations are still very much professional work environments and you are expected to remain respectful at all times.
Refrain from criticising or resisting wardrobe or styling decisions. Do not attempt to alter your costume or styling without permission. If you are experiencing serious discomfort due to prosthetics, hair and costume items, please seek assistance from the appropriate department.
Treat your costume and hair pieces with respect. Many of these are very fragile and expensive. Do not de-rig yourself without assistance from the relevant department.
During de-rig, hang all clothing items neatly back in their place. Do not discard items or leave them on the floor.
6. Bullying, Discrimination & Sexual Harassment
Extra People operates a zero-tolerance policy for any of the following behaviours:
Bullying
Any form of verbal, physical, or psychological abuse towards another person.
Belittling, mocking, exclusion, or intentional disruption of another person’s work.
Public shaming or hostile confrontations.

Harassment via text, WhatsApp, or social media is equally prohibited.
All allegations will be taken seriously and may result in immediate termination of agency representation, and, if necessary, escalation to legal authorities.
If you witness or are subjected to any such behaviour, please report it immediately to Extra People who will respond in utmost confidence and sensitivity.
7. Transport and Pickups
Arrive at the designated transport locations on time. Lateness may result in the production buses leaving without you.
Behave professionally during transport. Respect the driver, follow safety rules, and refrain from loud, inappropriate, or disruptive conversation.
In the event of delay or issue, contact the agency or relevant production contact as soon as possible.
8. Attendance and Reliability
Do not cancel a confirmed booking without unavoidable cause (e.g. illness, emergency). Repeated cancellations may result in removal from our books.
If you no-show a booked job without attempting to inform the agency beforehand, this will significantly reduce your chances of working with us again in future.

Do not respond “Available” to job enquires unless you are 100% available in the instance that you are booked.
Confirm bookings, Check-Ins and sign contracts in a timely manner when requested.
Do not ghost or ignore agency messages during active booking stages.
9. Confidentiality
All details of production, such as scripts, storylines, cast members, costumes and locations, are confidential and must not be shared publicly.
Do not post about any aspect of your work (including behind-the-scenes photos and fitting details) on social media.
Do not take photos or videos on set or in costume/makeup unless explicitly authorised by production and the agency. This includes at non-performance engagements such as fittings and rehearsals.
10. Security & Phone Lockboxes
If a production has employed phone security personnel, please surrender your phone when requested and follow all security instructions related to phone usage.
If you are found to have more devices that you have not voluntarily surrendered, you may be removed from the job immediately.
Rudeness or aggression to the phone security personnel is will not be tolerated and will result in expulsion from the job.
If you have a serious reason to have easy access to your phone at all times, such as for a medical support or child care, then please make this known to the Crowd and Security teams at the start of the day so they can help accommodate your requests.
Please do not wander off beyond the designated crowd areas or investigate areas you do not have the clearance to visit. If found in prohibited areas, you may be expelled from the job immediately.
10. Substance Use
You must not attend set under the influence of alcohol or any illegal substances.
If you are found to be impaired or unfit for work, you will be removed from the job and representation immediately.

Do not self-represent or apply directly to productions you are introduced to through Extra People.
Do not share agency briefs, emails, or booking information with other artists, other background agencies, third parties or social media.
If you are approached by other agencies while on a job booked through us, notify us immediately.
