To help tide us over during this strike period, we want to celebrate some of the most memorable experiences Supporting Artistes have had on set.
Share yours in the comments and if we get enough, we might make this a mini-series of blogs!
My favourite moment has to be on ‘ Witches’, chatting with Anne Hathaway inbetween takes, talking about girlie stuff like makeup and keeping fit like we were besties! So many amazing moments to tell my grandchildren when they come xx

Possibly my favourite scene to be part of was in series 6 of The Crown at Somerley House near Ringwood: gorgeous dinner scene in the summer house, with beautiful, 4-feet high flower arrangements on all the tables. Dominic West as Prince Charles made a lovely speech and then we had dancing - freestyle - for about 4 tracks afterwards before we wrapped.

Being on Taboo with Tom Hardy was my all time favourite role as a member of his gang. I remember standing in Charlestown in Cornwall surrounded by the famous actors and the big galleon, and wondering how a country boy from the Yorkshire Dales was so lucky to be there. It was an experience I will not forget and all the other places we filmed on that series. I was so lucky.

Favourite experience was in my very first job as an S.A. whilst shooting a scene for 'Masters of the Air' where, as Polish Refugees being herded from one place to another, we were huddled in a tent trying to act how it would feel to be in that position.
A gentleman in a beanie and jeans suddenly joined our little group and told the story of the 5 million plus Polish citizens annihilated under German occupation, explaining that it was (our) story, (our) history, gently guiding us to express more feelings of despair.
I realised after a several minutes that it was Steven Spielberg standing next to me. No-one else recognised him. As a Producer, not a Director on the Series. I hadn't expected to see him, let alone meet him. The 3:00 am start, the freezing cold, the hunger, the mud were all suddenly forgotten. 😛

Honestly, I have loved every moment on set with every production being so different.
My stand outs have to be ‘Heads of State’ and I can’t forget ‘Bodies’. Just full on action scenes, Paros, full costume, make-up & hair, running around all day (trying not to break my ankle 😌) with great leads for HoS - Uber cool 😎 .
Seriously, people get paid to create utter (artistic) chaos whilst having fun for a living. Such a contrast to my day job - I am in the wrong industry - don’t tell my boss! 😉

One of my favourite jobs has been working on The Great Escaper which has just been revealed as coming out in October, chatting to Michael Caines wife on a floating set. I won’t say anymore at the moment and spoil it for people but that was a really fun couple of days and a 15 minute walk down the road from my house as well! How amazing is that. I always love meeting the other SAs-and the crew, especially the ADs who look after us as they’re always so nice. Roll on the next jobs. 😊👍🏻💖

Blooming love this gig!
It's always fab to meet such a diverse bunch of people on the sets. I have met some wonderful SA's,and made new friends.
The crew on Masters of the Air were just brilliant to work with. Music playing and lots of singing.
I can honestly say, I've enjoyed all my roles, be them a blur in the background or a more prominent positioning, either way it's been 3 years of smiles.- Karyn
There’s so many productions to choose from, but my favourite recent experience made possible by Extra People was spending the afternoon with Florence Pugh for her latest movie. It was just four of us - two SA’s and two cast members - posing for a photoshoot like we were all old friends - laughing, drinking, dancing. It was perhaps the most fun I’ve had on set - a little surreal and a memory that always brings a smile to my face.

I've only worked on 2 episodes of The Crown series 6 so far. I find the whole experience fascinating, talking to more experienced SAs, seeing how productions are made and how hard the ADs work. The most memorable moment so far was when I was asked if I'd like to walk a dog into the hall. Daisy was the most beautiful white giant poodle, having stepped straight out of Crufts.
